This cries out for a definition.
Far be it from me to argue with the Mystery Writers of America, but their list of the top 100 mystery novels of all time
really has me scratching my head. I'm pleased as hell to see Sherlock Holmes
at the top, but...The Hunt for Red October
(84)? Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy
(30)? The Godfather
(15)? From Russia with Love
(78)? How precisely are these 'Mystery Novels?' Even A Time to Kill
(73) seems hinky.
